The Safety-Check System Solution
Safety-Check Systems UNC manufactures a range of bolt-on air brake adjustment gauges to fit all makes of power units, trucks and trailers. The gauge bracket bolts on permanently to one of the existing chamber mounting studs. The bolt-on bracket is fitted with a gauge plate preset to the allowed chamber stroke readjustment limit. The patented gauge plate system is adjustable to accommodate chamber sizes from type 9 though to type 30 long stroke.
Check Your Brake Adjustment Before You Roll
READY TO ROLL
With brakes released (ready to roll) the clevis pin indicator must be touching the inside of the front gauge pin. This position confirms that the pushrod is returning fully to the released position.
Apply service brake (with air pressure at 100 PSI). The clevis pin indicator must not go past the inside of the rear gauge pin. This is the preset readjustment limit.
OUT OF ADJUSTMENT
If the cleves pin indicator is touching or past the rear gauge pin the brakes must be checked by a qualified technician before using the vehicle.
